AISHA ABDI-Finance and Economic Planning She is the person in-charge of finance and economic planning representing the face of youth. She is a Bachelor of commerce graduate and a greenhorn to be trusted with such a key and sensitive ministry. She lacks the maturity and experience to handle such sensitive docket with such budgets. She has not yet post any impressive results and that is why Isiolo County have not yet collected or generated any new revenue stream. She lacks experience having only worked at the Equity bank as a teller and it’s high time she ‘grows’ and be up to the task. She lacks the ten year experience required for the position. Amina Adan Omar- Environment, Natural Resources and Tourism She is the Executive Committee member for Environment, Natural Resources and Tourism. She previously worked with the defunct Electoral Commission of Kenya before being deployed to Ministry of Tourism, Nairobi. She is mature enough and it’s probably her stint at the ministry of Tourism which has led to her appointment to this post. What she need to Know- If turned around, the ministry could be a major revenue earner for the County and as the person in charge she should come up with innovative ways of marketing and making the County an all time Tourist destination. She needs to understand trends in Tourism and Hospitality industry if she want to restore past glory associated with Tourism In the County by advocating for road improvement and security around our parks. Amina is a from Garba-Tulla Suleiman Guyo Shunu- Lands, Rural Planning and Livestock Development He hails from Merti Sub-County and is the person in charge of lands, livestock and Agriculture. He has worked as Hotelier and Immigration officer before joining the County Government. He has been a fierce critic of the past County leadership and must live and deliver to the expectation of the many who see him as a change agent. What he needs to Know- He should come up a with a land policy paper before the County Assembly lest he wants land transaction completely closed and forever in the County. He should also spearhead development of robust plan that will turn around pastoral economy in terms of Marketing and Value addition. He should also think innovatively outside the box by working towards cushioning livestock loss by promoting livestock insurance in the face of the cyclic drought. Abdullahi Suraw-Water, Sanitation and Irrigation He is the least known person and protégé of shrewd business man Abdi Viazi. He is from Garissa County and he heads equally very key ministry of Water, Sanitation and Irrigation. Like Abdi Viazi, Abdullahi is close confidant of the Governor and enjoys protection than all other executive committee members. He is quite truant minister and is away most of the time in Garissa at the expense of Isiolo County development and budget constraints. Abdullahi is known to drive himself all the way to Garissa using the County vehicle frustrating his two chief officers who are known to execute their work by depending on other vehicles from other ministry. The last known incident is that he parked the public vehicle in unknown place and went to Nigeria for his personal business. Maulid Hajj Hassan- Roads and Public Work Maulid is a protégé of the leader of Majority Adan Girro and he hails from Kinna Sub-county. Despite being youth Maulid is doing very little to help youth secure road contracts despite even the government plans to have youths and women given 30% of all the National and County government contracts. Maulid had short stint with Action Aid, Emergency operation Programme (EMOP) as Food monitor and Action Contre le Faim(ACF) in Garba-Tulla Sub-County. Maulid Hails from Kinna Division. He lacks the prerequisite ten year experience and technical skill relevant for the post.
