AJHF members and other jazz aficionados in central Arkansas are encouraged to support the genre, its presenting venues, and its working musicians by attending MONDAY JAZZ (8-11 pm, $5 cover) at The Afterthought (2721 Kavanaugh Boulevard in the historic Hillcrest neighborhood), the only Little Rock venue which has presented live jazz continuously (at least once a week) since the 1970s. To be featured on 4 August, 11 August, and 18 August are the Brandon Dorris Group (Brandon Dorris on saxes, Nicholas Towbin-Jones on keys, Stuart Coles on upright bass, Clayton Hopkins on drums), the Steve Hudelson Group (Steve Hudelson on guitar, Ivan Yarbrough on electric bass, Mark Ware on drums, Carl Mouton), Alan Storeygard and Friends: New Directions CD Release Party (Alan Storeygard on keys, Danny Fletcher on guitar, Brian Wolverton on upright bass, 2014 Arkansas Jazz Hall of Fame inductee Dave Rogers on drums).
