AJUMOBIS N500000: FACTS DONT LIE On thursday,28th of August 2014.The Dean of Students invited all the students union executive and the principal of SRC to come and receive Sen. Isiaq Abiola Ajumobi.Grudgingly,I accepted to go,I got to VCs office about 3pmand we waited close to 2hours waiting for Mr. Governor.Some of the SU excos were present also,Nene,Kanran,Emmyringer,Ojutiku. Emmyringer left and came back to tell us that the governor is no more coming there that we were to receive him at SUB. Owing to this,the speaker left for SRC chamber to have meeting with the committee of majority leaders and faculty presidents.The meeting didnt hold due to the visitation of governor.Also,some of the members of the excursion committee around to work on the budget of SRC excursion. While we were in the chamber,some guys brought banner to SRC to hang but the speaker rejected this because the SRC is not for any political party.Nboma later came to talk to the speaker over the banner issue but she stood her ground and he left disappointed. Less than fifty minutes later,we started hearing the sound of drums.I was wondering what could have happened before we could decipher what was going on we were told the governor was downstair.We had no other alternative but to allow them to use the chamber because the conference room would not be able to contain the governor and his entourage. The Speaker welcomed them,and she used the opportunity to reel out the areas in which the governor can be of help to the SRC.The SU President,Odesola Oluwafemi Victor(HunterSola) also spoke,he said same thing as madam speaker.The governor then appreciated the students leaders and told them to see him on Monday,1st of September,2014.Furthermore,students clamoured for something from the governor and he dropped a sum of N500000 for everyone present there.If I should go by this statement this would non students,students and by standers.The money was handed over to SU president. HunterSola later came into the SRC chamber to use it as a sharing-zone but the speaker rejected on the ground that those students that came into the chamber while the governor was around have damaged some of the SRC seats.Hunter left angryly. About 30minutes later,the SRC members present pressurized the speaker to go to the conference room where the money is being shared of which she reluctantly yielded after much pressure.On getting there,the speaker requested for N100000 but they rejected vehemently and Mellanby Hall Chair,Bada Lateef told her to her face that she wasnt part of the struggle.The Speaker got annoyed and rejected the N50000 given to her.Labzy who was allocating the scarce resources,deciding who gets whattold her that the money was strictly for her and the principal officers. Below was the way the money was shared: SU excos-N100000 SRC Principal Officers-N50000 T.O.T-N50000(for mobilizing students) Tedder Hall-N50000 Hall chairs present were bada Lateef,Rhekhepo,PBlack and faculty president of Agric.-All of them were given N80000 to share Hall Chairs absent were given N2500 each The popular Awelsu was given N50000 Victory Olojede collected N40000 on behalf of Kuti hall Oly Myk collected an undisclosed amount on behalf of Mellanby.
