AKA Kin, Boogaloo & Popping Workshops Article. Monday, 6.10.14 So last Monday, we had the absolute pleasure of having Boogaloo Kin grace our Main Arena. He was humble, beyond talented and communicated movement like I have never seen before. His teaching style, despite his insecurity about his level of English, was divine and earth shattering. He had mad groove, old school style, with an encouraging refreshing mind set we so long for, about life through dance, and the fact that a dance style is a name, but you as a dancer are more than a style. Popping is not dance without feeling, there is a technique and a foundation, but popping alone is still just a steps executed well, FEELING is where your soul meets the movement, and you become one with the dance. I learnt so much from listening to his heart, whilst absorbing his wisdom and knowledge. Perth Popping People, our very own Community of Poppers are such a sweet loving bunch of dancers. They care with every ounce of their being, about each other, the dance, the feeling, the unity, and are passionate beyond measure in the pursuit of excellence and knowledge. They support each other and have created a sustainable vibe, where you can feel the love, unity, laughter, respect and crazy fun. As for Scotty Meyn, their Leader. He leads with passion, consistency, absolute respect for his people and never faulters in delivering truth in knowledge, movement and bringing what he knows we need to our shores to make us bigger, better and wiser. Knowledge is Power. Dance is a feeling. Fyah was blessed beyond measure by this event. Another successful transforming experience. Thanks you Scotty, Thank you Perth Popping People. We love you!! x
