ALBAY PDRRMC / Phivolcs Tsunami Advisory 1: NO TSUNAMI THREAT Date Issued: April 2,2014 Time Issued: 08:14 AM A strong distant earthquake occrured in Near the Coast of Northern Chile at 07:41AM (Philippine Time), located at 19.8o South, 70.8o West with depth of 10 kM and a preliminary magnitude of 8.0. No destructive Pacific-wide threat exists based on the historical and tsunami data. However, earthquakes of this size sometimes generate local tsunamis that can be destructive along coast located within a hundred kilometers of the epicenter. This is for information purposes only and there is no tsunami threat to the Philippines from this earthquake. Please be guided by Phivolcs. Definitely, not by PAGASA. Gov.
