As of last night, many residents were bringing-up their concerns with regards to Council Agenda Item 8.1 for 13 May 2014: Amendments to Title 20 and to Title 6 to Establish Medical Marijuana Regulations. Many residents questioned the citys ability to regulate, enforce and provide by the existing laws for public safety, now seemingly adding to those concerns with marijuana sales nearby our neighborhoods, schools and so on, where closer monitoring is desired. It was only at the beginning of this years that reports from Hillsdale Avenue concerned a fire at the old Flames Restaurant, then followed by a crime at a medical marijuana shop, just days thereafter. This was between 18-21 January 2014. Looking back, that is perhaps a prime example of the concern by such residents. In previous posts, WGNA has shown the stress to city resources and personnel, because of under-served areas within Fire, Police and similar emergency services for this area. Having revisited this issue time and again, what do you think?
