ALERT, ALERT: Jim is steadily improving daily since his birthday on the 26th, He was in a Jerry Chair on that date and could not balance himself enough to sit up without pillows. He could not feed himself. The next day I noticed some improvement, but yesterday was THE DAY. When I got to Jims room he was not there, his Jerry Chair was in the room. I should have know better, because they take wonderful care of him, but I panicked, went to the Day Room = no Jim, as I passed the nurses station on the back hall - I asked Anna where Jim was. She pointed to the PT room. As I started up the hall, I ran face to face with the most wonderful site. Jim was sitting up straight in a wheel chair (had not been able to sit up in one since we came back to Sylvania from Candler) he was rolling his wheel chair by himself with only morat support from Gina and Lanore. He fed himself lunch and again at supper. Did a very good job of it to. Today was more of the same. He attended the Georgia/Clemson Tailgate party in the Day Room where he had 2 hotdogs, chips and cookies, after eating a great lunch. So I would not only like to share this with you, but thank you for all your prayer and support. Things are finally going our way and prayers are being answered. Love to all of you. Thanks for all of the birthday cards as well as get well cards. His room is being wallpapered with them. He loves mail call. I guess you can take the man out of the Post Office but not the Post Office out of him.
