ALERT: Freezing Rain Advisory posted for early Saturday morning - TopicsExpress

ALERT: Freezing Rain Advisory posted for early Saturday morning for parts of central Ohio. Winter Weather Advisories posted farther north. #BTW From freezing rain to thunderstorms all in less that 12 hours?!? Winter Weather Advisories being posted for parts of central Ohio... Yes it is possible tomorrow in central Ohio! JUST IN: The National Weather Service is issuing Freezing Rain and Winter Weather Advisories parts of central Ohio due to the threat of freezing rain early Saturday. Temperatures will drop tonight back to just below freezing and then begin to rise Saturday morning. However, rain will likely push into central Ohio as the temperatures are still near freezing, allowing for some brief freezing rain. Where it is a bit colder (mainly north of Columbus) some icing will be possible before the temperatures climb above freezing by late morning or midday. Warmer air will quickly surge into the state ahead of a cold front for Saturday evening. In fact, we may actually climb into the middle 50s before the strong cold front moves through. The Storm Prediction Center says that thunderstorms will be possible, however severe storms are not anticipated. That being said, there will be plenty of wind with this storm system, so it will be quite blustery! Once the front moves through, much colder air will user into the state Sunday into Monday. High temperatures Monday will struggle to make it to 20 degrees... and that is only the beginning of the cold on the way next week! More on that later. :)
