ALL MY FAITHFUL PRAYER WARRIORS: For the past 8-9 years, I’m sick from October to after New Year’s. I’m sure my family have memories of me moving about the house, serving dinners, sitting to unwrap presents at birthdays or at Christmas, or cheering the New Year in making my annoying sound and there’s no mistaking the sight of my tongue flying out of my mouth and head bobbing up and down, coughing out of control. I’m an asthmatic and also have COPD. For years, I’d been given every cough syrup invented. Then, I had a Dr who made the diagnosis and said I have what is termed “mucus producer asthma”. Yes, all asthmatics produce mucus, but I appear to be special and mass produce. Mix that with COPD’s constriction of bronchial tubes and I’ve got coughing, panic, choking, and losing consciousness. The Dr said that it’s the same as drowning in your own mucus. I know my triggers but the most terrible of them… ANY upper respiratory illness or a cold! I’m given steroids. I try to keep my intake down but I’ve no choice if I want to breathe. Steroids are evil. I miss a great deal of doing things with my husband. I fight this as best I can, but ultimately it takes me down and I miss more. Now, I’m a “germaphobe”. But, you’ve no idea what a cold is going to do to me for weeks. I try to live life carefully to avoid what I can to spare me from the masses of people who are sick and still go out everywhere as if they aren’t. This all being said, PLEASE PRAY FOR ME! I took another spill out of the bed last night. Cut my lip and tongue, bruised up both knees and hands again and my right arm terribly. I do not wake up until Joey is moving me. This is very frightening for me!
