ALL SAINTS DAY .... a memorial to all souls who reached heaven. ALL SOULS DAY ..... a memorial for those souls still in purgatory. In the early 1960s , two Chinese priests, Msgr. John Su and Msgr. John Liu, established Hua Ming Academy. The only Catholic Chinese school.in Bacolod City that later became the St. Johns Institute, a preferred institution up to high school. It provided a good foundation for Chinese Catholics to live their Faith. The Chinese community in Negros Occidental is known for its unity and community service. A group of Chinese leaders with roots from Fujien Province staryed the groundworks for a permanent Chinese cemetery in the 60s and was realized in the 80s.
