ALL: Your Thoughts & Input Hope you all had a great Father’s Day. I certainly did. My kids are good to me. We all really enjoyed the day. Father’s are important & I am glad to be one. My son is also a Father & it is his #1 job. In many traditional families, Father’s are/were the leaders, the “Head of the Household”. They set standards & provided an example, took responsibility. I’m not taking anything away from Moms, but I am concerned that many Men are not “stepping-up”. They are abrogating family leadership responsibilities. I don’t want to harp on this but VALUES are important. This is something we should support & HONOR. This thought, on this DAY brings me to another concern I have. I believe it is connected to feelings about traditional values, one of them being LOYALTY. I have been up front with all of you about my personal political positions & candidate support. I believe I have been respectful about other opinions and provided ample opportunity for all candidates to provide their perspective on public policy issues. But….. I am concerned about the message Congressman (2nd District) Scott Rigell sends. He has publicly endorsed Ken Cuccinelli & Mark Obenshain. He has not done so for E.W. Jackson, even though his record seems to indicate they are on the same side of most issues. I am concerned that Candidate Cuccinelli & Senator Obenshain are distancing themselves from EW. This is wrong. It is wrong because I was a backer of Mark Obenshain & Corey Stewart at the RPV Convention. Mark won & I believe Bell supporters are now willing to get behind Obenshain. I joined the EW supporters once Corey dropped out. This is what we do to promote the Conservative cause, or at least I thought so. Here is another example…I had the opportunity to speak with George Allen after he defeated Jamie Radke in the Senate Primary. He refused to acknowledge her great contributions & did not reach-out to the TEA Party. I supported him with the same enthusiasm. He received my vote, nothing more. It does not have to be this way. I would like to enthusiastically support the entire Conservative ticket. It starts at the top. If Cuccinelli, Obenshain & others will not support EW, then I may have to focus my support on a man who is not the establishment pick. Someone who is willing to put Values & Principles ahead of getting elected. We here in Frederick, Clarke, Warren & Loudoun Counties just denounced 20yr incumbents for not supporting the Conservative cause. We here in one of the most conservative corners of Virginia were fed up with the RINO mentality. We want representatives who have true conservative values. I plan to continue to support Dr. Mark Berg & Dave LaRock. I will talk about EW as well when I knock on doors. I would like to include Cuccinelli & Obenshain. I wait to hear about their support for EW . These might be tough words & some of you will not happy with them. But I want to hear your thoughts. What is the best way to move forward?? Send me a note.
