ALLAH AND Historical Fallacies! The Quran says Mary and Zacharias were together in the sanctuary when the angels came to Zacharias to give the prophecy about John (Yahya), and that Zacharias was Marys guardian and that Mary was staying in the sanctuary till she gave birth to Jesus Christ. THE TRUTH, HOWEVER, IS THAT ZACHARIAS HAD RECEIVED THE ANGELIC MESSAGE AND HIS WIFE HAD ALREADY CONCEIVED (the prophecy fulfilled) six months before Mary heard of it at all (Luke 1:36). Moreover, Mary and Zecharias did not live in the same town, and so Zecharias could not have been her guardian. It was AFTER the angel appeared to Mary in a city of Galilee called Nazareth that she visited Zacharaiss house in Judah to spent three months with his wife, Elizabeth, who was Marys relative (Luke 1:26, 39). Mary had already conceived before going to Zecharias house. This is evident in Elizabeths prophetic greeting to her when they met (Luke 1:42-43). Mary was NOT at the place Zacharias received his own prophecy; neither was Zacharias at the place where Mary received her own prophecy. Moreover, it was NOT in sanctuary that the Angel visited Mary; it was in a house. According to the Quran, Angels called to him (Zacharias) as he stood praying in the sanctuary... and that the angels also appeared to Mary. First, it was only one Angel, Gabriel, that appeared to Zacharias, and NOT angels. It was the same one Angel Gabriel that appeared to Mary. The Quran says angels (surah 3:35-42). The Quran story says Zacharias was mute for three days. The true story in the Bible says he was mute throughout the period of the wifes pregnancy. He spoke only on the day the child was being named (Luke 1:5-20). That must have been at least nine months of dumbness. and not three days! If Muslims had not claimed that the Quran was written by God, we would probably have overlooked such errors. Could God make such mistakes? We d not believe so. Therefore, a Muslim who wants to build his life on the truth to think deeply on these issues about the Quran with utmost honest. WE MUST NOT ALLOW SENTIMENT TO BECLOUD OUR THINKING, AS THIS CAN LEAD TO ETERNAL REGRETS.
