ALLAH ATTRIBUTES AND POWERS “In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful (1) Praise be to Allah, the Cherisher and Sustainer of the worlds; (2) Most Gracious, Most Merciful; (3) Master of the Day of Judgment” (Al-Fatiha 1: 1 – 4) “.... surely Allah has power over all things” (Al-Baqarah 2:20) “O mankind! Worship your Lord (Allah), Who created you and those who were before you so that you may become Al- Muttaqûn (the pious)” (Al- Baqarah 2:21) …. And of all things He hath perfect knowledge. (Al-Baqara 2:29) “To Allah belong the east and the West ……” (Al-Baqara 2:115) “They say: Allah hath begotten a son :Glory be to Him.-Nay, to Him belongs all that is in the heavens and on earth: everything renders worship to Him” (Al-Baqarah 2:116) “To Him is due the primal origin of the heavens and the earth: When He decreeth a matter, He saith to it: Be, and it is” (Al- Baqarah 2:117) “….Allah will bring you all together; surely Allah has power over all things” (Al-Baqarah 2:148) “And your Allah is One Allah: There is no god but He, Most Gracious, Most Merciful” (Al-Baqarah 2:163) “…. Allah is severe in punishment” (Al-Baqarah 2:165) If My servants ask you about Me, I am near, I answer the prayer of anyone who prays to Me. Let them, then, respond to Me and believe in Me so that they may be rightly guided. (Al- Baqarah 2:186) “Allah! There is no god but He,-the Living, the Self-subsisting, Eternal. No slumber can seize Him nor sleep. His are all things in the heavens and on earth. Who is there can intercede in His presence except as He permitteth? He knoweth what (appeareth to His creatures as) before or after or behind them. Nor shall they compass aught of His knowledge except as He willeth. His Throne doth extend over the heavens and the earth, and He feeleth no fatigue in guarding and preserving them for He is the Most High, the Supreme (in glory)” (Al-Baqarah 2:255) “…. And know that Allah is Free of all wants, and worthy of all praise” (Al-Baqarah 2:267) “Allah! There is no god but He, The Living, The Self-Subsisting, Eternal” (Aale-Imran 3:2) ”Truly, nothing is hidden from Allâh, in the earth or in the heavens” (Aale-Imran 3:5) “…. There is no god but He, the Exalted in Might, the Wise” (Aale-`Imran 3:6) “…. For Allah is strict in punishment” (Aale-Imran 3:10) “Say (O Muhammad): Whether ye hide what is in your hearts or reveal it, Allah knows it all: He knows what is in the heavens, and what is on earth. And Allah has power over all things” (Aale- Imran 3:29) ”To Allah belongs all that is in the heavens and on earth: To Him do all questions go back (for decision)” (Aale-Imran 3:109) “To Allah belongeth all that is in the heavens and on earth. He forgiveth whom He pleaseth and punisheth whom He pleaseth; but Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful” (Aale-Imran 3:129) “…. Allahs is the heritage of the heavens and the earth, and Allah is Informed of what ye do” (Aale-Imran 3:180) “To Allah belongeth the dominion of the heavens and the earth; and Allah hath power over all things” (Aale-Imran 3:189) “Allah is never unjust in the least degree: If there is any good (done), He doubleth it, and giveth from His own presence a great reward” (An-Nissa 4:40) “…. Allah is enough for a protector, and Allah is enough for a Helper” (An-Nissa 4:45) “Unto Allah belongeth whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever is in the earth. Allah ever surroundeth all things” (An-Nissa 4:126) “…. And to Allâh belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them. He creates what He wills. And Allâh is Able to do all things” (Al-Maeda 5:17) “They do blaspheme who say: Allah is one of three in a Trinity: for there is no god except One Allah. If they desist not from their word (of blasphemy), verily a grievous penalty will befall the blasphemers among them”. (Al-Maidah 5:73) “Know that Allah is severe in punishment, but that Allah (also) is Forgiving, Merciful” (Al- Maeda 5:98) “To Allah doth belong the dominion of the heavens and the earth, and all that is therein, and it is He Who hath power over all things” (Al-Maeda 5:120) ”And He is Allah in the heavens and on earth. He knoweth what ye hide, and what ye reveal, and He knoweth the (recompense) which ye earn (by your deeds)” (Al-Anam 6:3) “And to Him belongs whatsoever exists in the night and the day, and He is the All-Hearing, the All- Knowing. (Al-Anam 6:13) And He is the Subduer, above His slaves, and He is the All-Wise, Well Acquainted with all things. (Al-Anam 6:18) “With Him are the keys of the unseen, the treasures that none knoweth but He. He knoweth whatever there is on the earth and in the sea. Not a leaf doth fall but with His knowledge: there is not a grain in the darkness (or depths) of the earth, nor anything fresh or dry (green or withered), but is (inscribed) in a record clear (to those who can read)” (Al-Anam 6:59) “It is He, Who takes your souls by night (when you are asleep), and has knowledge of all that you have done by day, then he raises (wakes) you up again that a term appointed (your life period) be fulfilled, then in the end unto Him will be your return. Then He will inform you what you used to do” (Al-Anam 6:60) “It is He who created the heavens and the earth in true (proportions): the day He saith, Be, behold! it is. His word is the truth. His will be the dominion the day the trumpet will be blown. He knoweth the unseen as well as that which is open. For He is the Wise, well acquainted (with all things)” (Al- An’aam 6:73) “It is Allah Who causeth the seed- grain and the date-stone to split and sprout. He causeth the living to issue from the dead, and He is the one to cause the dead to issue from the living. That is Allah: then how are ye deluded away from the truth?” (Al-An’aam 6:95) “He it is that cleaveth the day- break (from the dark): He makes the night for rest and tranquillity, and the sun and moon for the reckoning (of time): Such is the judgment and ordering of (Him), the Exalted in Power, the Omniscient” (Al- An’aam 6:96) “And He it is Who hath set for you the stars that ye may guide your course by them amid the darkness of the land and the sea. We have detailed Our revelations for a people who have knowledge” (Al-An’aam 6:97) “He is the Originator of the heavens and the earth. How can He have children when He has no wife? He created all things and He is the All-Knower of everything” (Al-An’aam 6:101) “No vision can grasp Him, but His grasp is over all vision: He is above all comprehension, yet is acquainted with all things” (Al- An’aam 6:103) “Indeed, your Lord is Allah, Who created the heavens and the earth in Six Days, and then He rose over (Istawaa) the Throne (in a manner that suits His Majesty) …..” (Al-A’raaf 7:54) You cannot see Me, but look upon the mountain. If it stands still in its place then you shall see Me, when his Rabb appeared to the mountain, He made it collapse to dust .... (Al-Araf 7:143) “And (all) the Most Beautiful Names belong to Allâh, so call on Him by them, and leave the company of those who belie or deny His Names. They will be requited for what they used to do” (Al-A’raaf 7:180) “…. Certainly, He is the All- Knower of what is in the breasts” (Al-Anfal 8:43) “Unto Allah belongeth the dominion of the heavens and the earth. He giveth life and He taketh it. Except for Him ye have no protector nor helper” (At-Tawbah 9:116) “Verily your Lord is Allah, who created the heavens and the earth in six days, and is firmly established on the throne (of authority), regulating and governing all things. No intercessor (can plead with Him) except after His leave (hath been obtained)….” (Yunus 10:3) “No doubt, surely, all that is in the heavens and the earth belongs to Allâh. No doubt, surely, Allâhs Promise is true. But most of them know not” (Yunus 10:55) “It is He Who giveth life and who taketh it, and to Him shall ye all be brought back” (Yunus 10:56) “…. and whatever deed you (mankind) may be doing (good or evil), We are Witness thereof, when you are doing it. And nothing is hidden from your Lord (so much as) the weight of an atom (or small ant) on the earth or in the heaven. Not what is less than that or what is greater than that but is (written) in a Clear Record” (Yunus 10:61) “To Allah is your return, and He hath power over all things (Hood 11:4) “There is no moving creature on earth but its sustenance dependeth on Allah: He knoweth the time and place of its definite abode and its temporary deposit: All is in a clear Record” (Hood 11:6) “If thy Lord had so willed, He could have made mankind one people: but they will not cease to dispute (118) Except those on whom your Lord has mercy; and for this did He create them; and the word of your Lord is fulfilled: Certainly I will fill hell with the jinn and the men, all together” (Hood 11:118-119) “To Allah do belong the unseen (secrets) of the heavens and the earth, and to Him goeth back every affair (for decision): then worship Him, and put thy trust in Him: and thy Lord is not unmindful of aught that ye do” (Hood 11:123) “Allah is He Who raised the heavens without any pillars that ye can see; is firmly established on the throne (of authority); He has subjected the sun and the moon (to his Law)! Each one runs (its course) for a term appointed. He doth regulate all affairs, explaining the signs in detail, that ye may believe with certainty in the meeting with your Lord” (Ar-Rad 13: 2) “Allah doth know what every female (womb) doth bear, by how much the wombs fall short (of their time or number) or do exceed. Every single thing is before His sight, in (due) proportion (8) The knower of the unseen and the seen, the Great, the Most High” (Ar-Rad 13: 8 - 9) “It is the same (to Him) whether any of you conceal his speech or declare it openly; whether he lie hid by night or walk forth freely by day” (Ar-Rad 13: 10)
