ALLENTOWN/From Morning Call/Thursday, March 20, 2014 Man threatened girlfriend with shotgun, police say A man allegedly pointed a shotgun at his girlfriend early Monday during a domestic disturbance in her east Allentown home, according to court records. Timothy Thompson, 34, of Allentown fled from his girlfriend’s home in the 200 block of East Hickory Street after city police were called, and was arrested later in the 400 block of Hamilton Street, according to court records. Allentown police were dispatched at 3:15 a.m. to the home on a report of a man with a shotgun, according to court records. Officers spoke to Cassie Scipp, who told them Thompson, her boyfriend, came to her house after they had argued on the phone, police said. Scipp told police Thompson went to get clothes from the home and they started arguing on the porch about keys to a van, according to court records. Scipp went inside, closed the door and called police. She said she heard a disturbance outside, went to the door and saw Thompson holding a shotgun, according to court records. She said Thompson pointed the shotgun at her and he forced his way inside when she tried to close the door, according to court records. When children in the house started yelling that police were coming, Thompson tossed the gun into a closet and ran out the back of the home, jumping the fence and fleeing on foot, police said. Police arrested him and discovered that he was not able to have a firearm because of a robbery conviction in New York. Police said the shotgun had been modified to have a shorter barrel. Thompson was charged with prohibited possession of a firearm, terroristic threats, possession of a weapon, making repairs to an offensive weapon, simple assault, reckless endangerment and harassment. He was arraigned by District Judge Michael D’Amore and sent to Lehigh County Prison under $40,000 bail. — Manuel Gamiz Jr.
