ALLIANCE FOR BETTER ZAMBIA ABZ PRESS STATEMENT DECEMBER 17, 2014. It is common knowledge that acting president Dr. Guy Scott is part of the newly formed Rainbow party. Therefore his recent conduct including the writing of a letter to the acting Chief Justice in an attempt to block PF leader Mr. Edgar C Lungu from filling nominations this Saturday should be understood in this light. Dr. Scott is just waiting for the right moment to ditch PF and formally join the Rainbow party. In the meantime Dr. Scott will continue creating confusion and various problems in PF to weaken the ruling party. In fact, Dr. Scott wouldn’t care about being removed as acting president if such action would add to the confusion in the governance system. After his scheme to impose a leader and presidential candidate for PF failed Dr. Scott apparently vowed to create confusion in PF before leaving to join the party led by the man he always supported to succeed late president Michael Chilufya Sata. Against his background, the PF Central Committee should handle the disciplinary cases involving Dr. Scott with a lot of caution and prudence in order to minimize confusion and unnecessary problems. Finally, we commend the PF Central Committee for their quick action to discipline Dr. Scott for attempting to block PF from filling presidential nominations scheduled for this Saturday. We urge the PF Central Committee and Cabinet to move fast and bring the current confusion to a stop. We also urge all Zambians who are supporting the candidature of Mr. Edgar Lungu to continue campaigning for him so that he can win the forthcoming presidential election and restore sanity in the country.
