ALLY McCOIST believes Arnold Peralta will keep getting better as he continues to adapt to his new surroundings in Scotland. The Honduran was Rangersâ star man in their 1-1 draw with Dundee tonight at Dens Park and scored a sublime free kick to draw the sides level. Peralta showed plenty of tenacity in a snarling performance and did plenty to suggest heâll add extra bite to the Light Bluesâ midfield. The 24-year-old has only been in the squad for three weeks after joining it late following his involvement in internationals with his country over the summer. Already he is showing signs of settling though and that thrills McCoist following his new recruitâs impressive stint on the right flank. The manager said: âHe scored a great goal and it was a fantastic hit. The pleasing thing was I donât think anyone was going to get the ball off him and he fancied it. âArnold whipped it and it was one of those that once it left his boot, you knew it had a chance of going in. Heâs certainly earned the right to take the next one the next time he plays. âHe gave us a real taste of what heâs all about. He worked that right side really well and he had bundles of energy. âTheir left-back kept pushing forward trying to get balls in and he was blocking everything. In an attacking sense, Arnold got up the park really well too. âHeâll get better and weâre very pleased with him. Heâs adapting and weâre starting to see that on the park. âArnoldâs girlfriend is coming over which is important as thatâll be a big help to him and heâs taking English lessons. âThat will take time but I have to say at this early stage, weâre delighted with him so far and heâll keep improving.â McCoistâs team was second best in the first period and Dundee deserved their narrow half-time lead courtesy of Declan Gallagherâs opener. But the response after the restart was far better and aside from Peraltaâs leveller, the manager was much happier with the way things went. McCoist added: âA draw was fair in the end. I think we were a little bit off it in the first half and Dundee posed us some problems with their three lads up front. âOne of them kept dropping off in the hole behind Nicky Law and Kyle McAusland and our centre-backs were caught in no manâs land. âWe didnât really get going. We couldnât get the ball out to David Templeton and couldnât get him isolated in one-versus-one situations. âI was really pleased with the way we came out in the second half though and for 30 minutes I thought we were the better team so it was just about right we finished level.â
