ALLY McCOIST has decided against postponing Rangers Championship - TopicsExpress

ALLY McCOIST has decided against postponing Rangers Championship clash with Alloa next weekend. The Light Blues boss had a call to make after Lewis Macleod was named in the Scotland squad for the games with the Republic of Ireland and England and Arnold Peralta and Bilel Mohsni were selected for Honduras and Tunisia respectively. McCoist has called off several fixtures in recent years due to international call-ups and repeatedly defended his decision to do so. But his side will now take on the Wasps at Ibrox a week on Saturday as they look to keep up the momentum ahead of their crunch clash with Hearts on November 22. Rangers made it seven wins on the spin with a comfortable 3-0 success over Cowdenbeath on Tuesday night as goals from Nicky Law and David Templeton, either side of a Blue Brazil own goal, clinched the points. Since crashing to defeat against Hibernian at Ibrox, the champions have found their form and hit the goal trail to close the gap on their SPFL Championship rivals. Rangers have taken five points out of Hearts advantage in recent weeks and midfielder Law is determined to keep their winning run going as they set their sights on pole position in the title race. He said: We have the big one against Hearts coming up, but were confident going into each game. We are playing well, keeping clean sheets and scoring goals. We spoke about it three or four weeks ago that we couldnt afford to drop any more points, especially before that game when we go to Tynecastle. Weve done that up until now, and we play Falkirk on Saturday which will be another tough game as theyve given us a couple of good games this season. But hopefully well come out of that one with three more points. Our main aim is to catch Hearts and get to the top of the table. We feel we are on a good run now. Weve tightened up at the back and were scoring goals so its a good run we are on and we want to continue that on Saturday.
