ALO UMUNNE CONDEMN APGA CRISIS Yes, in every kingdom there’s always a fight. In just four years of being at the helm of affairs of Anambra State, a certain party stalwarts settled their differences at a famed shrine. As Anambrarians, we share same blood, same zeal, same entrepreneurial desire to always conquer. So, there is nothing wrong in occasionally having internal squabbles. As a sign of greatness, APGA’s brewing crisis is only normal. However, as apostles of this great party … having laboured to oust greedy leaders who toyed with our general well-being in pursuit of personal aggrandizement, we condemn in strong terms the nature of this very cankerworm eating deep into the toils of sleepless nights and tireless days we worked to strengthen our dear state via visionary APGA leadership. We haven’t quite recovered from the shock of Chief Peter Obi CON resignation from the position of ‘unconfirmed’ Leader and BOT Chairman when the National Chairman, Chief Victor Umeh took to the press for uncontrolled and unpalatable utterances we least expected. Our concern – why should the press be the right place to try to settle our internal differences? Why are we suddenly importing the same excessively ugly politics that tore the party we deposed for irresponsive leadership into onye aghana nwanne ya fold? We will call that our leaders desist from such washing of dirty linens in public and call for emergency stakeholders’ get-together, set up a responsible committee to urgently wave into the matter before extra damage is done. Part of that committee’s brief must be to reconcile whatever led to Chief Obi’s resignation, bring him back and confirm those appointments ASAP. Nobody is bigger than the party but landmark strides of Chief Obi’s eight-year tenure are what APGA is enjoying now as a shining light to follow. We repeat our slogan … onye aghana nwanne ya.
