ALPHARETTA DPS ISSUES HOLIDAY SAFETY REMINDERS During the holidays, a small number of criminals find it an opportune time to commit the deeds of their trades. It’s very easy to prevent becoming a target if you follow some simple guidelines. Never shop alone - especially at night - and shop in a pair of two or more. Have your keys in hand and ready to unlock your car. Park in well-lit areas and know your surroundings. When shopping, never leave your purse in a shopping cart. Do not carry large amounts of cash. Use a debit or credit card and make sure you retain your copies of receipts. Always, always, always place your purchases in a trunk or take them directly home. Drive defensively as traffic is heavier during the holidays. If confronted- do not resist. Call 911 as soon as possible. Never post your travel plans or “away time” on social media. By taking these steps, your chances of becoming a victim are greatly decreased!
