Once diagnosed you are given 2-5 years to live. There is no cure to ALS. There is one drug that is used to increase time; however, it only gives people about 4-6 more months. ALS, attacks the nerves in your spine and takes away your ability to function; soon after you loose control over you limbs you also loose your ability to breath on your own.
