ALWAYS FRESH WATER - EVEN AT MINUS TEMPS! Ive been looking for a water system that does not need hydro and works all winter in Canada: Drinking Posts! It works like a hydrant, water disapears if horses are not drinking and nothing freezes! They dont work of course if Hydro is out - but if Hydro is back on I dont have to deal with a freaking bucket full of ice! The water is slightly warmer as it stays in the ground below frost line and the horses do prefer the Drinking Post over a bucket. How long it takes them to learn it? Well they come with two devices and none of them worked for my horses, so I called System Fencing and they sent me (next day delivery) a training tool. After 15 minutes both herds figured it out and love it! Installation: do it in summer and not three days before the snow flies. Other than that: very straight forward! Worst thing: digging that freaking water line...! Contact System Fencing in Canada - they sell them!
