ALWEN BULL TOPS WELSHPOOL LIMOUSIN SALE AT 5,500GNS TL & CP Wynne, Hendre Glan Alwen, Llanfihangel Glyn Myfyr, Corwen, Denbighshire topped the Welshpool Sale today (Thurs 15 May) with their 5,500gns bull Alwen Heddwyn. This was the second year in a row that Trefor & Carol Wynne had taken the leading price, this time with an October 2012-born son of Alwen Edward (by Ampertaine Abracadabra) and out of the Wilodge Tonka-sired dam, Alwen Dona. He carried a Beef Value of LM+42. The sale, held on behalf of the North West Midlands & North Wales Limousin Club, saw 15 ulls average £3,885 overall. Judge Ian Turner, Chatsworth Settlement, had earlier put up Underwood Harvey from I & W Jones as his Champion. Sired by Nebo Amazon and out of Underwood Daisy, this bull sold for 5,300gns. Standing Reserve was Twemlows Harrier (Cloughhead Ernie x Twemlows Fuschia) brought out by WL & JA Forrester which was purchased for 5,000gns.
