AM STILL A PRIEST!! Being a priest is a song that i hav sung since childhood.Hw i admird the saintly atmosphere of being calledfather Kasweka .But as years went by,other interests like becoming;an Engineer ,an Accountant,and many more crowded my mind.Nevatheless, my childhood dream kept flashing back as i thought that being a priest is among the ultimate levels in serving God. Not long after completing my secondary education, by the grace of God i confessed Jesus my Lord and Personal Saviour-what a great day that was to me!! Gradually as a believer,i begun to learn more about the word of God.God works mysteriously indeed!Thru a certain brother in Christ,GOD helped me realise that my childhood dream had actually come to reality-a priest! Wat a big sigh of joy i had. The word of God explains clearly how that every believer belongs to a royal priesthood under the high priesthood of Christ Jesus(Heb 4:14). The apostle Paul in his epistles to the believers particularly at;Corinth,Ephesus, Colosse,Philippi & in Rome,wuld address thm as the sanctified/ saints,the calld to be holy,the faithful in the Lord Jesus Christ(Rom 1:7,1Cor 1:2,Ephe1:1, Phil1:1 & Colo1:2). Moreover,the apostle Peter addresses his letter to the believers scattered around the world as;Gods elect, the chosen ones and strangers in the world (1 Peter 1:1,2).1 Peter 2:5 stresses you also,like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy PRIESTHOOD, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God thru Jesus Christ, verse 9 adds you are a chosen people,a ROYAL PRIEST HOOD,a holy nation.. Now realise that a priest is set apart,calld to be holy,sanctified, chosen and called by God to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God(Heb 4:14-16) and to declare praises of him who called us out of darkness into his wonderful light.1 Peter2:11 further urges the priestly familyDear friends,i urge you,as aliens and strangers in the world to abstain from sinful desires that war against your soul Rom12:1 There4,i urge you brothers in view of Gods mercy to offer your bodies as living sacrifices,holy and pleasing to God- this is your spiritual act of worshingRead Titus 2:11-13. May God who called you and me to be set apart,sanctified and holy continue help us as a priestly family to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to himself. Glory be to God.AMEN!
