AMBASSADORS - URGENT ACTION ALERT - CONFRONTING WORLDWIDE MEDIA BIAS - PART 1 Much of the media is reporting that there is a cycle of violence and suggesting implicitly or explicitly that there is a moral equivalence between the recent actions of the Palestinian government and the Israeli government. This is bias reporting which must be confronted. This is not a cycle of violence. The events began with the abduction and murder of three Israeli teenages which were celebrated by the Palestinians on the street and in Palestinian social media. Both the Palestinian Authority and Hamas use social and state media to incite their citizenry to violence and terrorism. The heroes in these societies are terrorists - cold blooded murderers of Israeli innocents, including children. Last week we also saw the despicable murder of an Arab teeneager. Prime Minister Netanyahu and all elements of Israeli society immediately and strongly condemned his murder and the Israeli government is swiftly pursuing justice. This fact has been ignored and/or distorted in much of the media, including the New York Times, which has exhibited a historical and profoundly disturbing bias against the Jewish state. The New York Times has used distortions to suggest incitement on the part of the Israeli government - THIS IS A BLATENT LIE WHICH IS COMPLETELY UNTRUE WHICH MUST BE ADDRESSED AT EVERY TURN. Hamas has been firing rockets incessantly into Israeli civilian populations for the past few years, attacks which have intensified over the past few days. The rocket attacks are more and more frequent and have extended to cities near Jerusalem and Tel Aviv. Day to day life in large parts of Israel has come to a halt. Sirens are ringing - people are running for shelter - terror is rampant.This is why Israel deemed it necessary to engage in Operation Protective Edge. No my friends this is not a cycle of violence as much of the world media would have you believe. This is the Israeli government fulfilling its obligation to protect its citizens from terrorist attacks and exercising its legitimate right of self defense. You must make certain that your friends are aware of this fact and your local media reports this accurately. The Israeli Defense Forces have a defined goal of dismantling the elaborate Hamas terrorist infrastructure to stop the rocket attacks on its citizens. They take precautionary measure to avoid civilian casualties - including jeopardizing their own security and the success of their mission to warn civilians in Gaza of potential danger. However, the challenge of avoiding unintended civilian casualties is great because Israel is facing an enemy that does not value human life; uses human shields; and has previously maintained rockets and rocket launchers in schools and mosques. More to come on this but please review your local media coverage and speak up if and when necessary. THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT.
