AMEN! Dear All, He fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to him, Saul! Saul! Why are you persecuting Me? Who are you, lord? Saul asked. And the voice replied, I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting. Acts 9:4-5 Currently the news abounds with horrific stories of persecution of Christians. I was reading an article yesterday where it reported children having their heads cut off, their mothers raped and then killed and their fathers publicly crucified, the pictures were horrific and worst part was the perpetrators who could be seen celebrating their murderous acts in the name of that supposedly peaceful religion Islam. In reality they were demonstrating what it is all about. Saul that most zealous Pharisee some 2000 years ago was also persecuting and killing Christians. Jesus met Saul face to face and a real and deep change came over Saul, as the saying goes the rest is history. It is my prayer that Jesus will come to those most murderous people in the Middle East and that they will find that they need to repent of their sins and instead spread the Good News rather death and despair, that they will turn from their evil and wicked ways and realise that if they continue to live by the sword thus they will also die and spend eternity in hell. Open Doors has asked for prayer for the persecuted Christians in Northern Iraq as the members of the Islamic State strive to surround them and kill them all. Let us pray first for protection for the followers of Christ and second that the Islamic State fighters will themselves repent and become followers of Christs Way rejecting the evil way they currently follow.
