AMENDED PROFILE: Born in Ghana, Paul de Kanff [aka Nicky Dodoo] arrived in England in Nov. 1964 to pursue a long time ambition to study Speech and Drama with the view to going on the stage or teaching Drama. EDUCATION: Enrolled at Guildhall School of Music and Drama in Fleet Street and later at the Barbican when the school moved into a new building. I also took an acting and writing course at the City Literary Institute (City Lit) in Drury Lane, Covent Garden West Central London. OTHER EDUCATIONAL ACHIEVEMENTS:- BA (Hons) in SOCIAL SCIENCE at the Polytechnic of Central London, 8th July 1986; and MA in MANPOWER STUDIES at the University of Westminster, 23rd October 1992. Royal Mail South West London Mechanized Office, now closed down in August 2011, should be congratulated for taking interest in the educational needs of their employees. They made it possible for me to undertake my BA course and paid more than half of my fees. I retired from Royal Mail on 15th January 2,000. Since my interest has always been in the theatre in 1976 I joined with a very dear friend, actor, poet and playwright Mr Kwesi Eduam-Baiden, stage name Kwesi Kay to form the Acacia Theatre Trust. The aim of the Theatre Trust was to stage plays with a multiracial cast and also to encourage new writers but the venture failed because of lack of funding. Kwesi Kay is no longer with us: may his soul rest in peace with Christ. My own acting ambition was never realized: it was reduced to occasional walk-ons on TV Dramas and amateur acting and writing. I have written two novels, one of them “Drumming and Dancing to Doom” Published by Strategic Book Group in Nov. 2011 under the pen name of Paul de Kanff, can be obtained from Amazon.co.uk, Barnes And Noble. com and whsmith.co.uk. The second book, OLU WILLIAMS: I Must Take This Chance is yet to be published. I am now working on a play, THE KHAKI MEN which I abandoned long time ago to try my hands on writing novels. Drumming and Dancing to Doom by Paul de Kanff .
