AMERU CREW BIO: Ameru Crew-the pioneers of Ki_Meru urban music,is an independent hip hop-Reggae & world music group made up of; A). Mr Somi (a vocalist,producer,composer and instrumentalist) B). Colonel Wicky (a rapper,choreographer & Hype Man) C). Faiteziki (a rapper,video producer & graphic designer) D). Melanin Falaki (a rapper& composer). The group known for their hit single entitled Twendaneni FT Jehushaphat Kimaita (Lets Love one another) was formed in Meru in the year 2011 out of the need of putting Meru in the Kenyan musical map and also of using music as a tool to bring about positive change in the community i.e Meru county and Kenya at large. Their music is built on a template of propagating love,peace,tolerance and also of self awareness,their lyrics dwell onhope and spiritual consciousness. The groups popularity in Meru earned them a chance to perform with international artistes like Sauti sol, Camp Mulla, Jaguar,Wyre, Nameless,Wahu & Juacali during the 2011 & 2012 Safaricom KenyaLive concert where they(Ameru Crew) wowed & won the hearts of fans by their energetic performance.Daily Nation Ciku (a columnist with The Daily Nation) described them as being talented,focused & disciplined and having what it takes to break the jinx of Merians-cant-sing. The Groove Awards 2013 nominees group has landed numerous Tv and Radio interviews as well as entertainment newspaper headlines.
