AMIGOS de NICARAGUA United Disciples of Christ November 13 -18th, 2013 Old and new friends from Chacraseca, Nicaragua, will be in Bartlesville on Wednesday, November 13th through Monday morning, November 18th. Many activities have been planned and we hope that one of these events will interest you so you can have a more intimate opportunity to meet our friends from Nicaragua that some of us have already had the privilege to work with and learn to love and cherish. Following is an itinerary of the scheduled activities. Not everything is set in stone so if you have any questions please contact Laurie Collins at 918-331-5214. Nov. 13th 12:00 pm – Arrive Bartlesville. Lunch at the Collins’s. Anyone welcome. 3:00 pm – Isaias and Leonido will be staying with the Appleyard/Richmond family. Julio will be staying with the Bjornen family. Elba and Glenis will be staying with the Collins family. 6:00 pm – Supper with Youth at FCC. 7:00 pm – Pottery lessons at Hope Stone with Youth Group. Nov. 14th 11:00 am – Lunch at New China Oriental Restaurant. All welcome. 12:00 pm – Tour Woolaroc. All are welcome but you must pay for your own admittance ticket. 6:00 pm – Dinner at the Collins to meet nuestros amigos. Contact Laurie if interested as spacing will be limited. First call gets first dibs! Nov. 15th 12:00 pm – Lunch TBA. 1:00 pm – Casa Hispana tamale making at DCC Nov. 16th 10:00 am – Highway cleanup. All are welcome. Look for sign-up sheet at coffee hour so you can be contacted for inclement weather. Meet at DCC 12:00 pm – Soup luncheon at church (DCC). All are welcome, but please contact Laurie for reservation. 7:00 pm – Bartlesville Symphony. Buy your ticket and join us for a cultural evening. Nov. 17th 8:30 and 10:45 Worship, 9:30 am – Sunday School. 12:00 pm – Potluck with Nicaraguans sharing their stories. 6:00 pm – Dinner with Nicaraguans – Place to be determined. Limited seating.
