AMOSUN SEEKS LAWMAKERS’ NOD TO ESTABLISH SPORTS DEVT TRUST FUND The Ogun State House of Assembly has received a letter from the State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun seeking a bill for a law to establish the State’s Sports Development Trust Fund. Reading the letter today shortly after resumption from a four-week recess, the Speaker, Rt Hon. Suraj Ishola Adekunbi, said the letter was sent to the Assembly on the 2nd of this month. Meanwhile, the Assembly will commence its oversight function of monitoring the State’s 2013 budget implementation from Wednesday, 2nd of next month through 7th November this year. Hon. Adekunbi who also dropped this hint on the floor of the Assembly therefore enjoined Commissioners, Special Advisers, Permanent Secretaries and Directors of Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) in the State to cooperate with the legislature by providing necessary documents and information while the exercise lasted. He noted that the monitoring exercise was in consonance with the provision of the State’s 2013 Appropriation Act.
