AN EXCERPT FROM THE HEADMASTERS NEWSLETTER On Tuesday night we celebrated our Cultural Awards Dinner. This wonderful occasion highlighted the successful term we have enjoyed. Last week was one of incredible highlights for Queen’s College. Our Drama Society scooped the award for the best school play in the Eastern Cape at the FNB Alexander Playhouse Festival in East London. Our Athletes travelled down to Brandwag in Uitenhage where they confirmed our status as the top Athletics school in the Eastern Cape, by winning the coverted Hirsch Shield for an unprecedented 13th year in succession. This time, by a record number of points. Our top Grade 11 Science pupils enjoyed an amazing Science tour to Mpumulanga. Our Cricketers performed very well in Graaff-Reinet and our Junior Waterpolo players were on target in East London. All the while, “normal” schooling continued with a myriad of other exciting events and happenings taking place. The things I have mentioned above constitute a small window of happenings that make up Queen’s College. We must ensure that none of them are ever taken for granted. None of these things simply just happen. They require planning, dedication and a massive amount of hard work. I again pay tribute to our exceptionally hard working staff that make all this possible. I would like to thank our loyal and supportive parents and congratulate our Queenians on the many exceptional achievements you have produced this term. Good luck to all our boys participating in the different activities during the holiday and enjoy a short break with your son!
