AN IMPORTANT LESSON FOR US ALL; Husband has this annoying and dangerous habit of removing the smoke alarms, or just so that I wont know, remove the batteries to prevent the alarms going off for any "slight" (according to him) trigger. I would get mad and scream to put it back etc. Last Tuesday night, he was alone sleeping in the lounge, we return from shopping and the smoke had engulfed the whole house, frying pan of oil was burning, and he was dead asleep. We tried to wake him and he was quite drowsy, and luckily managed to get him out of the house for fresh air. It was a close call for him, the VALEA. So lesson? DO NOT REMOVE THE SMOKE ALARMS OR BATTERIES BECAUSE IT WILL SAVE YOUR LIFE. He was lucky.
