AN OPEN LETTER TO ALL COMRADES If you are reading this am double sure you are alive, but protocol must be followed, hope you are fine comrades. We all agree that it was not an easy Semester, I speak for those who were jostled up to the walls of uncertainties; the victim of unprecedented judgments, those who were detained without trial. The innocent who the hung man rope tangled almost to death, the poor Comrade who got tear gassed for the sake of others. It is true and all self-evident that human progress is never automatic. Thus for every reform to be actualized, it calls for a proportional sacrifice to be offered. But we thank God that it did not extend to a point where justice was dented, procedural legal action bent, and law re-defined to suit those in higher offices while oppressing , robbing and degrading those on the ground. No, we all fought together, took bullets for each other. Spent sleepless nights together, accommodated each other when the institution was closed down, shared the little cash we had, had a deep believe that we would finally at one point get to THE PROMISED LAND. It is true, atrocities did happen; the university was under ‘siege.’ Though we can’t dwell in the past, am sure we shall NEVER forget these activities. Though some scenes were stressing, am sure we had some entertaining part of it too, the cat and rat games with the police, it is believed that this is part of Kenya 8-4-4. I remember when Comrades took over power, marched to Uhuru na Kazi building and got a free ride back to Campus, some Comrades spent a Night at Shimo La Tewa prison, others in police cells, some like my brother Benmark Nganga and Vincent Mandere confirmed to be good athletes, they gave me a rude shock after overtaking me at a high speed,I could not believe that Jaxon Kauthi and John Nyeria could run that fast despite their big bellies and big bodies. My sincere apologies to those who had it rough with Kimaiyo Boys, especialy brother Bonface Aguta and brother Cyrus Nderitu, but am sure we learnt some tactics and skills on how to deal with those boys, this is Kenya am double sure you will face these guys in future..All this happent in the name of Comradeship, that’s the real definition of UBANTU. It also gave us the feeling of being a “University Student”. I also remember the famous phrase..”UTAMU WA DEMONSTRATION NI TEARGAS”..The Engineering Comrades went to an extend of sacrificing a whole semester, am sure you will one day seat down and clap for yourselves for that sacrifice as a fully registered Engineer. To cut the long story short, have a peaceful Christmas holiday.Merry Christmas and a happy new year comrades, peace be with you..All glory goes to God for this far.. #tupataneJANUARY
