AN OVERVIEW OF OPERATION KABALIKAT 2013 OUR RECENT 2 TRIPS IN EASTERN SAMAR-LEYTE 2013 FIRST 2 WEEKS: November 18-21 Cebu-Leyte and Nov 24-29 via Bicol to Eastern Samar and Leyte AREAS OF CONCERN: Tacloban, Guian, Basey, Sulat (Eastern Samar and Leyte), including Coron in Palawan, Ilo-ilo and Northern Cebu To date, December 1, 2013, we have ministered to at least 619 families in Eastern Samar, particularly in Sulat, Guian, Basey and in Tacloban, Leyte by distributing relief goods (at least P2,000 worth of food for a week, clothes, medicines, etc. per family), giving medical services, giving 8 chainsaw units in different affected communities to be used for cutting of trees and using the logs to rebuild their houses. We also gave 30 pieces of solar lights with cellphone charging features, AM/FM radio, 196 pieces of water purifier good for 1,000 liters per water purifier, and cash donations of at least P2-4k per pastors family (24 pastors). In Coron, Palawan, through Bishop Chito Sanches and Ptr Angle Supan, we sent 35 big boxes/sacks of assorted relief goods and 1 chainsaw; in Ilo-ilo we sent P20k cash donation; and in Ormoc nearby areas in Leyte and North Cebu (Nov 19), through Pastor Rolly Casani, we sent P120k worth of goods, clothes, 3 chainsaw and P5-10k cash donations to 5 pastors.
