AN UNEXPECTED WONDERFUL BLESSING: Its been a while since Ive gone to the Captains Bible Study normally held at the Wharf restaurant at 6:30 AM. I arrived there to find that it was moved to Emmanual Church. It was too late to go there so I went down to the waterfront and met a wonderful man. Tom spent 20 years in the Navy and then a number of years in the State Department in DC. Hes been coming to Destin for a long time since his parents brought him years ago. He loves fishing and came to one of if not the best place in the world to fish, Destin Florida. I told him of some of my close encounters with the Carrier Lexington over the years which seem to delight him. Then a special blessing arrived in the person of Pastor Steve Gilbert who also loves fishing for fish and fishermen walked up. After asking Tom if I could pray for him [which he greatly appreciated since I doubt anyone has ever done it before] I gave them each a copy of my IM NOT ASHAMED OF JESUS book. Athena accuses me of using it as a tract, imagine that. Tom was raised Catholic and this permitted a quick bridge to be establised when I told him I was one of the first to go to St. Marys when they built the first school in, [1946-7]. Back then this was a huge blessing for an Episcopalian for the Nuns were [not teachers] they were educators and their enforcement means were tough, today they would be locked up for abuse. They used their wedding rings on my head [sorta explains some things about me] but they had their rullers ready to wack us on our knuckles too. All for the LORD of course! I can still quote most of the Gettysburg address from the 4th grade just to give you an example of how effective they were. I know for a fact Id never had made it later at Sewanee Military Academy [4 years] without their [educating me]. Im confident their [pounding on me] helped me gain my degree at FSU too. I trust I will see them in heaven to thank them over and over for their [IMPATIENCE]. Theres more but for now [rejoice with me] that the Lord had this all set up for me to enjoy this morning.
