AN URGENT APPEAL TO ALL NATURELOVERS IN NAMIBIA... When on safari - TopicsExpress

AN URGENT APPEAL TO ALL NATURELOVERS IN NAMIBIA... When on safari allways be on the lookout for suspicious vehicles and persons in the bush who clearly are not holidaymakers/campers. Report ANY suspicious persons/vehicles to the nearest police, Nature conservation and Ministry of Environment and tourism with clear information on vehicle colours and make/model, Registration and other marks, distinctive features as well as description of occupants. Take photos for later identification purposes. GPS waypoints of where they were encountered, photos of tyre patterns etc can also be helpful later and is important. We can all contribute as "self appointed honorary game scouts" to protect our game, just be vigilant and look out for this! hunting vehicles are normally easily recognized. Before travelling ascertain which areas are hunting concessions and GMA or community conservation areas, there are maps available at Nature conservation. get the relevant phone numbers you might need (cell phone coverage is wide these days). we would be naive to think that we will be spared the onslaught of these greedy poaching scum of the earth!!! There are Desert lion project officials at Sesfontein and Purros where you can also report such sightings. BE PRO-ACTIVE its no use just crying foul with the rest!!!
