AN URGENT APPEAL TO OUR MEMBERS: Greetings! Our agreement with BMAT on the monitoring of 12 radio stations and 3 TV stations stipulates March 1, 2013 as the start off date. However, our reference database, or the music files uploaded into the BMAT server on which BMAT will match the monitored musical works has not even reached the 2,000 mark. This would mean a high volume of unidentified works to be generated by the BMAT monitoring once reporting time comes. It defeats the main purpose why we paid for an expensive monitoring system in the first place. So I am sending this urgent appeal to all our members, but most especially to our publisher members that have hundreds or even thousands of titles under their respective catalogues, to please expedite as soon as possible the submission of the original sound recordings (OSRs) of their catalogues in mp3 format. Our Membership Department has dispatched notices for submission and has conducted follow-up calls and reminders regarding this matter. Please allocate utmost importance in accomplishing the required documentation and accompanying data, and submit them to FILSCAP as soon as possible.
