ANALYSIS OF SRI AUROBINDOS SAVITRI by Roy Posner Savitri: A Legend and a Symbol is Sri Aurobindos epic poem of 12 books, 20000+ lines about an individual who overcomes the Ignorance, suffering, and death in the world through Her spiritual quest, setting the stage for the emergence of a new, Divine life on earth. It is loosely based on the ancient Indian tale of Savitri and Satyavan from the Mahabharata. This site is dedicated to analyzing Sri Aurobindos poem so that it is more accessible for the average reader. I have only completed part of the work, and though I may take it up at a later time, I invite others to go further. My one observation is that to truly understand Savitri, one must come to know the mind of Sri Aurobindo.It is captured in full in his epic philosophical treatise The Life Divine.
