AND HE PRAYED AGAIN… By Pastor Moses Aransiola James 5:18 …And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit. Elijah prayed that it might not rain and it did not rain for three and a half years. And he prayed AGAIN that it should rain (meaning he had prayed before). Beloved, before God does something monumental, a divine order has to be followed called operation P-P-P Operation P-P-P - Prayer/Prophecy/Promise - Prayer - Performance Prayer is a converter of promise to performance. Prophecy and promise will hang in the air if there is no prayer. The moment you get hold of a promise, raise a performance altar. 1st Kings 18:1 And it came to pass after many days, that the word of the LORD came to Elijah in the third year, saying, Go, shew thyself unto Ahab; and I will send rain upon the earth. After receiving a promise of rain from God, Elijah raised an altar of prayer. After praying, he made a positive proclamation: 1st Kings 18:41 And Elijah said unto Ahab, Get thee up, eat and drink; for there is a sound of abundance of rain. Between the first time Elijah told his servant to go and look for signs of the promised rain and the seventh time, Elijah PRAYED and kept on PRAYING, groaning in the spirit. The after the seventh time, there was finally a small cloud before the great rain! 1st Kings 18:44-45 And it came to pass at the seventh time, that he said, Behold, there ariseth a little cloud out of the sea, like a mans hand. And he said, Go up, say unto Ahab, Prepare thy chariot, and get thee down that the rain stop thee not. And it came to pass in the meanwhile, that the heaven was black with clouds and wind, and there was a great rain. And Ahab rode, and went to Jezreel. Brethren, Elijah prayed SEVEN consecutive times before the PROMISED rain came!!! Seven is a number of perfection and completion. Your job as a child of God is to hold on tenaciously to God’s word and keep praying. God says in the bible “I have not asked the house of Jacob to seek me in vain…” YOUR PRAYER WILL NOT BE IN VAIN! Oftentimes, the size of a problem determines the length of prayers. God may need to work out some things and deal with certain things or powers. He may want to give your enemies a chance to repent before eliminating them. Wait on God because He is working on your case. Many people do not have a heart of prayer though they have a mouth of prayer. A person with a mouth of prayer is very impatient. A patient heart allows God to do his perfect work. Consider the act of cutting down a tree: the cutter chips away with his cutlass repeatedly until one final stroke does the job after many days! This is the power of repeated blows. If the cutter of the tree had given up before the final stroke, he would not have reached his goal of cutting down the tree. This is in the same line of thought as the straw that broke the camel’s back. Beloved, you are at the fringes of Canaan. I prophesy to you that you will reach your Canaan. Do not be discouraged. You will not go back to the wilderness. It is darkest before dawn. You may have been watering your bamboo tree for many years. The set time has come for your bamboo to shoot out in the mighty name of Jesus! Thomas Edison (the man who created the light bulb) did not give up after 9,999 failed experiments!!! It was at the 10,000th time that he succeeded in lighting up the world! In Luke 2:25, the bible tells us that Simeon waited for the consolation of Israel. This man prayed for forty-six years for the coming of Jesus. After he saw baby Jesus with his very eyes, he asked God to allow him to die in peace. You will die fulfilled and happy in Jesus’ name. Luke 2:29-30 Lord, now let thou thy servant depart in peace, according to thy word: For mine eyes have seen thy salvation, Brethren, the tide is about to turn in your favor – YOU MUST PRAY AGAIN!!! PRAYERS -I reject the spirit of frustration and discouragement in Jesus’ mighty name! -I receive the courage to pray under fire in Jesus’ mighty name! -You ancient problem of my life, your expiration date has come, so EXPIRE in Jesus’ mighty name! (After 7 years, Hebrew slaves must be set free. We are spiritual Hebrews) -Every negative word I have spoken against myself, God forgive me. I erase every negative utterance with the blood of Jesus! -Proclamations: “As the Lord liveth…..FILL IN THE BLANK!!!” ebooksbymargaretmorenikedoherty
