AND SO IT IS!!! 28 DAYS IN OCTOBER ... When I walked into this Authentic Warehouse Loft and gazed towards the massive windows, walking in strides around the open space , the shivers and perhaps madness of so desperately wanting it was complimented by a gentle hand on my back , a whisper in my ear from my husband saying ...LETS GO FOR IT... and so here I am 3 months later , creating a performance space that is evolving into a retreat salon for lovers of Artistic expression. An open and eclectic space to linger into soft places of truth telling and bawdy talking. Where poetry and music mingle with movement and mindfulness flirt. What Ive organically created is my own theatre space, a space I could not find in this massive city of Toronto. A space where I could dress and light it up. A space where I could set the stage and seating, giving it an atmosphere of time gone by and a home to return to. Now that I have this enchanting space, I am taking on the adventure of truly finding a soulful way of raising awareness around mental illness. And so for 28 days... (the same amount of time I was locked up in a mental ward after my Suicide attempt) I will presenting Hold Mommys Cigarette every night at 8 pm for 28 days. I will take good care of my spirit , mind and body as I take on this adventure, I will be working with a documentary film maker and sharing the experience at film festivals as the next adventure in this story of my life and touring it across Canada.
