AND THE SCREEN DISPLAYED: 2011 French Open Men’s Singles Final: Rafael Nadal v Roger Federer ATTENDANCE: 13,800 spectators. Then it struck me that all the 13,800 people in attendance all had names but non mentioned, but two names Federer and Nadal where obviously spelt out. Then I further realised that spectators are always addressed by numbers, while contributors are addressed by their names, we tag them big names/known names. Again, it became clear that nobody is born with a name tag, everyone is given a name....but some names end simply as a means to identify the individuals, while some other names have products identified with them... They grow from Names to Brands. And the simple difference lies in their levels of contribution. The question is, are you a spectator or a contributor? Does your name identify you, or identify products with you? Do you constitute those payed to be watched (contributors) or those paying to watch(spectators). Remember that, in the words of my friend spectators make noise (fans) contributors make news (Lionel Messi). Good morning. Sorgwe Ernest (D man in charge)
