AND..... TOP FIVE MOST OVERRATED GAMES (and these are in order!!!!!!!) Firstly a Note: Every game or franchise on this list is a Triple A budget, money making game. Im not including mobile games because those are primarily used to drum up advertising and micro transaction pay. 5. Super Mario Bros. Franchise (not Including 2 or 3): Although it pains me to put this on this kind of list.... IMMA GONNA DOIT ANYWAY!!! Super Mario Brothers games just keep rehashing the same formula over and over again that it just doesnt hold the same magic that it once had. Dont get me wrong, I love me some Mario games. But it the level designs are stagnant and dont match the over world themes at all. The reasons that 2 and 3 dont make this list is because 3 had consistent great level design/world sync, and two was just a Mario Skinned version of Yume Kōjō: Doki Doki Panic 4. Assassins Creed: This game series brought Stealth and Free running back into the limelight in a time when shooters and sports games were (and still are) the main money makers. But for everything that the series has done right, it cant hide the fact it has become a repetitive series hoping to cash in on past success. The Ezio Storyline gave us a multiplayer that many people dont really play anymore, 3 gave us Naval combat (which is done better with number 4) and 4 still hasnt given us any good storyline for the present day segments of the game. Im just glad that they will never make a modern Assassins Creed game. 3. Mortal Kombat: Armageddon: This, by far, was one of my personal biggest disappointments back during the end of Xbox and PS2. I have always loved Mortal Kombat, having played my brothers, sister and neighbors in a variety of fighting games when we were little. But this piece of crap left a bad taste in my mouth. Hyped as the biggest Mortal Kombat of all time (at the time) It had the complete roster from 1 to deception. But they took away the gory awesomeness of the fatalities for a make your own fatality. Add the fact huge rosters usually detract and unbalance game more often than not and a DC crossover game, Im glad that this franchise got a much needed reboot before it Mortal Kombat was finished. Fatality Avoided 2. Madden Franchise: Lets face it, when was the last time you played a Madden Game that was wasnt a tweaked clone of the last? Although there isnt much you can do to improve the formula for sports games, EA hardly even does that. Look at the most recent Madden Game compared to the 2k Football games. The 2k games consistently are batter in terms of gameplay, mechanics, graphics, and attention to detail, But Madden still keeps up its high sales figures. With all the negative attention that EA has gotten over the last few years, it could use some better sports games to tide over its critics. 1. Call of Duty Franchise: This game series has gotten so repetitive and boring that its a wonder it still sells as well as it does. Although I hardly ever play what I like to call Modern Shooters(I prefer old west and sci-fi shooters, thank you), I can tell when a game gets to the point that it either needs new blood and ideas, reboot, or put into the ground. Call of Duty has been running on the same engine and because of this it hasnt been really upgraded in a while graphically. Add this with the fact that the game has more of a Michael Bay movie (where its just huge explosions and little story) in single player, poor PC support, and cloned multiplayer with tweaks, its no wonder that GHOSTS did so bad. With Sledgehammer Games now being added to the Call of Duty rotation, maybe these guys can make a game worth the hype.
