ANDERS TESGAARD IN FOR RAAM 2015 High school biology teacher Anders Tesgaard rode his first RAAM in 2012. He finished that rookie year in 12th place in a time of 11 days, 7 hours and 6 minutes with an overall average speed of 11.04 mph. Prior to his second RAAM this year he said, “My goal? To do better—the same as everybody. You try it one time and that’s okay, but if you have the feeling that you can do better, so that’s it.” He did do better this year, taking 4th place in a time of 9 days, 17 hours and 27 minutes—a dramatic improvement and an impressive result to be sure. But Tesgaard feels that he can still do better and had signed up for RAAM 2015 to prove that, “Fourth place in 2014 is located in the legs and in the head as a memento of a fantastic experience with a super good and fun team,” he wrote on his blog, “I am very happy and proud of the result, but still have the feeling that they can do MUCH better and I love the training and preparation. So in 2015 we are ready again. Everyone in the team is ready for more. It will be the same Team, now with routine - And the goal is BETTER!”
