Soil and Water Engineering (Accredited) This program aims to provide education and training for individuals who would work with organizations and governments, including local governments, to improve or enhance the use of water and soil properties, for various purposes, especially for agriculture. • BSc. Community Medicine & Health (Accreditation Pending) The purpose of this program is to train health personnel to man/supervise community and district health facilities where medical officers are usually not available. It also aims to produce a health worker who will be able to lead a health team to deliver effective, preventive and curative health care at the sub-district level, and also be part of the team of health workers at the District and community level. • BSc. Agricultural Engineering (Accredited) This program equips graduates with the necessary knowledge and skills in Agriculture and Engineering, especially mechanization and post-harvest technology, which, when applied, would overcome the shortfalls in food security in the country. • BSc. Health information Management (Accreditation Pending) This courses aims to train professionals who are able to collect, analyse, disseminate, communicate and store health data in a secure manner such that they can be retrieved easily when necessary. It also encourages health professionals to explore emerging technologies and their use in healthcare such as electronic health records, telemedicine, diagnostics imaging, use of Internet in the delivery of quality health care. • BSc. General Agriculture (Accredited) This program is designed to provide students with knowledge as well as practical and entrepreneurial skills that will make them useful citizens contributing their quota to national development efforts in the agriculture sector, mainly towards food sufficiency. • BA Development & Management Studies (Accreditation Pending) This program is designed to help students develop knowledge and skills to handle management and organizational issues in a complex global environment. Students could gain employment in both public and private sector organizations. Knowledge and skills in development and management are required for top science, and engineering professionals who also make business and management decisions on daily basis. ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS WASSCE/SSSCE HOLDERS a. Passes (A1 – C6/A - D) respectively in six (6) subjects comprising three (3) core subjects: English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science plus three(3)relevant elective subjects. b. General Certificate of Education (GCE) ‘A’ Level Credits in at least Five (5) subjects at the GCE ‘O’ Level (or its equivalent) including English language and Mathematics, with at least two passes in the relevant subjects at the Advanced Level. c. Higher National Diploma (HND) Applicants must be at least 25 years old and show proof of age with birth certificate or any legitimate documentary proof of birth date. In addition applicants must have credit passes in English Language and Mathematics. Applicants without credit passes in English language and Mathematics must pass mature students’ Entrance Examination to be conducted by the University in English Language, Mathematics and Aptitude test. d. Foreign Students All foreign qualifications would be referred to the national Accreditation Board (NAB) for determinations of equivalences and eligibility for admission to tertiary institutions in Ghana.
