ANIMAL ADVOCATES IS CONTINUING TO ALTER ANIMALS THAT WOULD OTHERWISE REMAIN INTACT AND LIKELY ADD TO THE PROBLEM OF PET OVERPOPULATION The BC SPCA says that it takes in more than 28,000 unwanted animals each year. In addition to this, there are countless rescue organizations doing the same. This is why Animal Advocates focuses much of its attention and financial resources to combatting this problem. Every intact animal has the potential to add to this already-overwhelming problem, creating even more homeless pets that end up in pounds waiting to be put down. We recently altered three more animals in Lytton BC. Here is the story, told by our rescue colleague in Lytton: On October 22, one more dog and two cats from Lytton were altered. One of the cats (the darker of the two) is a feral that was found living on the Lytton streets. Shes had at least two litters of kittens. The male tabby (Blu) was found when he was estimated to be just a couple of weeks old. He was hand fed and now lives with a loving couple and a small dog. Unfortunately, there are very few jobs here in Lytton and they couldnt afford to pay for his neuter. The pit bulls name is Petie and he is sweet and rambunctious. Hes almost two but shows no sign of slowing down. The owners have had to leave town for a couple of months for medical reasons and I have been looking after Petie. I agreed to his care on the condition they allow me to neuter him. If you are able, please consider donating to us so that we can continue this compassionate campaign: animaladvocates/donate/
