ANNOUNCEMENT! 8th International Childrens Film Festival Bangladesh announces a new category for the film competition. The new category is Social Film Section (Supported by The High Commission of Canada in Bangladesh) The festival aims to showcase the films based on social issues which will increase awareness in the viewers bringing a good impact in the society. Every year the subject/theme for this section will be changed. The theme for this year is CHILD, EARLY AND FORCED MARRIAGE. - There will be a restriction for choosing the subject of the story. All the films must be made based on a story related to the theme “CHILD EARLY AND FORCED MARRIAGE”. - Films made by Children and Young Filmmakers, aged up to 25 years, are eligible for this section. - Only one award will be given as an special award of the festival. - The films of this section will be judged by a jury board comprising of film experts and critics. - Winners will get Crest and Certificate. Based on the rules and regulations given by the High Commission of Canada, we are not allowed to give any cash prize for this award. But the winning film will get very high exposure in Bangladesh and also in Canada. The High Commission will promote the winning film in Canada and further funding or scholarship for the winning director might be possible in future. Deadline: December 30, 2014 [Only for this category] The film must follow all the guidelines of the festival and the work must be the directors own creation and free from all copyright issues. If found any violation of copyright in music or anything, the film(s) will be rejected as well as the filmmaker will be punished according to the policy of the festival.
