ANNOUNCEMENT Altaf Husain, PhD., Assistant Professor and Researcher, School of Social Work, Howard University, Washington, DC is currently recruiting participants for the research entitled: “A Bio-Psychosocial Spiritual-based Examination of the Association Between Religiosity, Depression and Insomnia and Carbohydrate Cravings” Purpose of this study The study is an investigation of risk factors among Muslims with regards to depression, sleep disruption/deprivation (insomnia, for this study), carbohydrate cravings, and religiosity. Would the study be a good fit for me? This study might be a good fit for you if: You are English-speaking Muslims (both native and foreign-born), male or female and above 18 years of age, and interested in supporting the examination of the connections between carbohydrate cravings and factors such as religiosity, depression and insomnia. What would happen if I took part in the study? If you decide to take part in the research study, you would: · Understand that participation is entirely voluntary · Read and sign the consent form to participate · Be informed of steps taken to ensure anonymity/confidentiality · Spend about 30 minutes to fill out the demographic questions, and self report measures of Religiosity, Depression, Insomnia and Carbohydrate Cravings · Receive a gift card as a token of appreciation and compensation for your time.
