ANNOUNCEMENT American Councils for International Education would like to remind interested parties about its Summer 2014, Fall 2014, and Academic Year 2014-15 language study programs in Eurasia. The Eurasian Regional Language Program (ERLP) features language and cultural immersion in Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Ukraine. Applications and complete program information are available online at: - acEurasiaAbroad.org/ THE PROGRAM ERLP provides participants with intensive individualized instruction in nearly 20 regional languages in 10 Eurasian countries. Courses are designed to strengthen speaking, listening, reading, and writing proficiency in the language of study. Classes are conducted in small groups or private tutorials by native speakers with extensive experience teaching foreign students. In addition to classroom learning, American Councils emphasizes language immersion outside of the academic program through: volunteer opportunities, cultural excursions, other extracurricular activities, and life with host families. U.S. undergraduate or graduate credit is provided through Bryn Mawr College. LANGUAGES OFFERED - Armenian in Yerevan, Armenia - Azeri in Baku, Azerbaijan - Bashkir, Buryat, Tatar, Yakut, etc. in Russia - Chechen or Georgian in Tbilisi, Georgia - Kazakh in Almaty, Kazakhstan - Kyrgyz in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan - Romanian in Chisinau, Moldova - Persian (Dari, Farsi, Tajiki) or Uzbek in Dushanbe, Tajikistan - Turkmen in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan - Ukrainian in Kyiv, Ukraine FINANCIAL AID American Councils has several scholarship funds for overseas study.
