ANNOUNCEMENT Jubilee exhibition of S. Smagulov’s works Date: November 7th, 2013 at 18:00 Venue : 2 Respublika Avenue, Astana, the Nazarbayev Center Organizers: the Nazarbayev Center, Public Fund Union of Professional Artists of Astana On November 7th, 2013 at 18.00 an exhibition of honored artist of Kazakhstan Sembigali Smagulov opens in the Nazarbayev Center PI, marking the 50th anniversary of an artist. He is an author of a symbol of independence - Kazakh Eli monument. The exhibition will feature more than fifty works, made in the genre of sculpture, painting, drawing. In addition, expected presentation of albums exhibition Sembіgali Smagulov. Sembigali Smagulov was born November 7, 1963 in Akchatau village of Karaganda region. In 1984 he graduated from the department of painting and graphics of Almaty Art College named after N. Gogol . In 1992 he graduated Almaty State Theatre and Art Institute named after T.Zhurgenov specialty muralist. After graduation Sembigali joined the Association Kokserek, known in the artistic environment of 90s, consisting of three talented young artists and a philosopher. Sembigali takes part in important domestic and foreign exhibitions, positively demonstrating his work. In 1994, the exhibition The old and new art of Kazakhstan, held in Vienna, Sembigali successfully demonstrates the new art of our country to foreign audience. Then his exhibitions were held in six cities in Germany, in London and Moscow. Independent critics of Moscow, appreciating the uniqueness of creativity of Smagulov determine the rating of his works as 4A (the author) , but when you consider that the characters 1A , 2A are assigned to the now living masters of art , it is hard not to notice a fairly high level of classification. As an exception Sembigali receives this rating in 35 years, while the normal retirement age of its receipt - after 50 years. International recognition of Smagulov is confirmed by an honorary title of an Artist of peace in the world at the International Forum of Artists in Beijing in April 2013. Exhibition organized on the occasion of the fiftieth anniversary of the author, can be divided into three sections: a retrospective of the works of realistic character ( Portrait of a sister , Youth , Kyzyl uyk ), the main line of the master , the symbolism ( Tanirden , My vertical Three of my patron saints , Flight Over the Khan Tengri ), and the third part - its conceptually uniting the the previous sections of the exhibition - a collection of sculptures ( Height of viper , Bakit , Bastyurk , Composition of Kurmangazi , Quadriga - symbol of the rebirth of steppe art ). Sembigali Smagulov in his works always sets new artistic challenges, in whatever form of art or work, whether it’s sculpture, painting or monumental art. Natural talent, backed up by a thorough knowledge and professional work, allows him it to have advantages in the competitive world of art. Awkward sizes and free demonstration of their solution can be attributed to one of Smagulov’s artistic goals of the exhibition. A thorough knowledge of the mental universe and attitude of Kazakhs can be clearly seen in the titles of his work: Alemdar , Nomadname, Temіrkazyk as well as their artistic interpretation. Paintings of Sembigali Smagulov were in exhibitions of the leading museums of the country, becoming a national treasure of the Kazakh people. And he wrote as a student work, «Horses of My Father ( 1987 ) is located at the State Museum of Oriental Art in Moscow. Unique continuation of the exhibition will show the monumental and decorative painting Kokturk world on the ceiling Saltanat Saraiy performed by order of the Office of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the occasion of the OSCE Summit in 2010. During the opening of the exhibition a presentation will be demonstrated from the album Smagulov Sembigali, in which the author, except for submission of reproductions of works of sculpture, paintings, drawings of different years, shares his thoughts, accumulated within many years of hard work about the roles and tasks of the artist in contemporary society.
