ANNOUNCEMENT: To those who have been surprised by bigger fines, LTO checkpoints and whatnot. AS OF THIS WRITING * Joint Administrative Order 2014 (JAO) has been effective, implemented and so enforced since June 19, 2014. * There is (or should) be no apprehension/enforcement on aftermarket mufflers unless it emits sound more than 115db. PD96 should not be used against mufflers BUT it can be used against loud horns and wangs2x. Thats 15K. * Regarding aftermarket parts like side mirrors and whatnot, for as long as the subject motor vehicle complies with the provisions of Administrative Order ACL-2009-018 entitled “Revised administrative order on the new motor vehicle inspection system and promulgating the rules and regulations in the implementation thereof” there should be no problem. To conclude, if ever you are apprehended not in line with the statements above, CONTEST. Much better if you can take videos for your evidence.
