ANNOUNCEMENTS 12-3-13 Hey CHS!!! Let’s see who can fill the Toys for Tots box first – the Freshman and Sophomores or the Juniors and Seniors. Please put your new unwrapped toys in the correct box. The boxes are marked so you will know which box to use. I know you are already asking “What do we get?” Well, you get to know that a lot kids will have a great Christmas because of you that otherwise wouldn’t so “ Let’s go CHS.” The Project Graduation Cake Walk that was scheduled for Brazoria has been cancelled. Please bring your cakes to the American Legion hall in West Columbia on Saturday, Dec. 7th by 11:00 a.m. We will still be having the cake walk in West Columbia. Attention: Seniors Balfour will be here on Tuesday December 10th during all lunches for class ring delivery. Payment that will be accepted is cash or check only. The deadline for ordering Freshman shirts is today. Please see Ms. Baker. Attention Interactors: We will meet Thursday the 5th at 3:00p.m. Everyone needs to attend! BOYS and GIRLS GOLF: All boys and girls golfers will have a meeting today after school in Coach Carrs classroom (G108) from 3:10 – 4:00. Attention all sophomores: Registration for the PLAN test will run through Dec 13th if you want an opportunity to take a timed test to prepare for your college entrance exams, come by the guidance office with $13 and register. If you are a student planning on attending Lamar University we may have a scholarship just for you. Please come by the guidance for more information. The door contest has begun and will run through Friday December 13th. This year, you may choose any class period to participate. If you are interested in participating, please contact Mrs. Shank, and join us in spreading some much needed Christmas cheer! STAAR retests are going on now. Be sure to be at school and on time. Thursday, December 5 English 2 Reading Tuesday, December 10 Algebra 1 Wednesday, December 11 Biology Class rosters are posted throughout the campus. Fall Sports Banquet will be December 9th at 6:00PM at the Columbia Heritage Hall (old JH) PRE SALE ONLY!!!!- Athletes should purchase these tickets before the deadline of December 5. NO TICKETS will be available at the door the day of the Banquet! Tickets will be $10- athletes will be provided a ticket but anyone accompanying them will need a ticket for the meal. The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Scholarship application is now available online. This is an $18,000 scholarship payable over 4 years and our High School will have at least one recipient. You must have ACT or SAT scores and plan on attending school in Texas. You can access the application at hslr or come by the guidance office for more information.
